A vigorous grower that produces purple-pink new leaves that gradually fade to blue-green. The autumn colours are stunning, with leaves turning shades of red, orange, and purple. Produces plume-like, pink flower-heads over the summer. It is known to grow well in poor soil and is primarily cultivated for its brilliant autumn color. Once established, it can tolerate drought conditions. Deciduous.
