Spiraea Anthony Waterer PB5

A beautiful old-fashioned shrub. Forms a compact mound with attractive delicate willowy purplish-red leaves in spring, changing to blue green in colour as summer progresses.  In autumn, the leaves are vibrant shades of yellow and reddish-purple and then it loses its leaves over the winter.  In spring to midsummer, domed sprays of deep rosy pink flowers sit atop the branches of blue-green foliage. Loved by butterflies and is a great flower for picking.

An excellent choice of shrub for the garden.  A full sun lover this plant is easily grown in moderately moist but well-drained soils.  It is easy care and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions.  A great choice for cottage gardens, borders and banks or sloping areas of the gardens.

This plant flowers on new wood, so prune in late winter to early spring.  If it becomes overgrown, you can cut it back hard after flowering.
