White bunting, Snow bunting, Wake Robin and Double white.

Beautiful Gardenia-like, double white blooms in mid-spring. A rare, long-lived compact perennial great for tubs or garden. Flowers develop a pink tinge as they mature. Grows best in part to mid shade, in moist, well-drained soil. Cover rhizome with 4-5cm of soil and dress with leaf mould or compost. Mark where planted. Dormant February to September.

• Can you guarantee my trillium will flower?

  Only Mother Nature can guarantee that, however we only supply plants that have flowered the previous season.

• Do the white buntings require a frost to thrive?

  The t.grandiflorum plena is a woodland plant from New York state. It requires a dormant winter chilling period.

• Where should I plant my snow bunting?

  Choose a woodland environment with approximately 35% sunshine in either the morning or afternoon. We recommend you plants with good drainage and plenty of humus, and moderate moisture and sunlight. Plant top of rhizome 2 inch (50mm) below the surface.

• Why has my T.grandiflorum plena turned pink?

  As the blooms mature they take on a stunning pink tinge around the edges before fading away.

• Why are T.grandiflorum plena so unique?

  Our stock has been cultivated from one rhizome purchased back in 1984 by Maryed Urquhart. 40 years down the track, and after much careful division and care, we are now able to offer this rare beauty to the public.
