Quince Van Deman PB28

NZ$74.99

Fruit is large, oblong-pear shaped, bright yellow-orange. The flesh is pale yellow with a good, spicy flavour. Early ripening. Heavy bearing and hardier than most cultivars. Self fertile.

Prefers a well drained, sunny & sheltered site. Water well during the early years, during long dry periods and when the fruit is developing. Harvest time is usually in March and April. Trees may take 3-4 years to produce significant numbers of fruit. Quinces are essentially inedible when raw, so should be stewed.
