Hydrangea Runaway Bride 2.5L

NZ$42.99

This stunning, award-winning variety renowned for its unique garland-like stems and masses of crisp white blooms that cascade and improve year after year.

No annual pruning required, this exceptional hydrangea produces blooms for upwards of four months, offering long-lasting colour from late spring through to autumn.

Best grown in sun to part shade in well-draining soil.

If your Runaway Bride® blooms develop a light pink tint, this is usually related to the soil conditions.

A higher soil pH (above 7) can encourage a soft pink hue, and older blooms may also naturally take on a gentle blush as they age. If you prefer the flowers to stay a cleaner white, you can gently lower the soil pH using an aluminium-based fertiliser. Aim for a pH around 6.5–7. Be mindful that dropping the pH too low may cause the flowers to lean towards blue.

Runaway Bride® has received major international recognition, including Plant of the Year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018, Japan’s Flower of the Year 2019–2020, and most recently Australia’s Plant of the Year 2025.
