The first maple to unfurl in spring with pale yellow spring grow with orange and red tints, turns greens over Summer then returns to vibrant yellow and orange in Autumn. Prefers a sheltered site in full sun to part shade. May suffer leaf scorch from excess sun, wind, and drought. Great for bonsai. Deciduous.
